Actually I know two blonde bombshells married to Arabs... and very happily married for well over 10 years I must add. But then, these two were from a rich business orientated family who had lived in the UK for years and years.

I definitely do not sympathise with such women ... its their choice and they know the risks.

I have over the past 3 years put on quite a bit of weight but I never resorted to foreign men...particularly those from arab countries. I did have offers but I never really liked the idea.

I still found plenty of Maltese men who were interested, and I am today happily commited to a Maltese guy, who loves me for who I am.

Being overweight is no excuse for marrying an arab/syrian/pakistani etc. If you have a low self esteem sort it out, but NEVER complain that Maltese men aren't good enough. True, some might turn out to be pigs, but that's the whole concept of dating - meeting a variety of people and learning what it is you're looking for through your experiences with them.

After my last relationship I was single for a year and a half (almost), which for me felt quite strange after a 2 year relationship and 2 other short term relationships. But I coped, I learnt, I gave myself time to get back on my feet and I took every experience as a challenge to improve myself.

I would have never and NEVER WILL be that desperate for a man to the extent that I'd seek one from an arab country, self esteem or not.

If you don't like the way you look, then work at it and change.

i pity these women

True, but they should inform themselves what they are getting themselves into. People coming from different countries or different creeds have different views on what marriage is exactly all about.
Assuming that the Syrian in question is a muslim, the non-muslim woman who married him should have known that for a muslim , marriage is simply a license to use the sexual organs of a female for his pleasure and most of all to produce chldren for the glory of Islam and Allah. To get a divorce he can simply tell her three times in frnt of witnesses that he divorces her, and according to Islam , once the children are over 7 years he has every roght to take them away from tehri mother because the children are his property.
I am not say that muslim men are all like that or that they are mcps.It is just that the religion that they are brought up in makes it easier and legitimate for them to treat women as second class citizens and worse. Women with property or a powerful family behind them useually get better treatement...sort of.
It is all based on what is written in the Koran which is cosidered to be Allah's, word by word.
Why , it is even permissible to marry a woman just for one night. It is called a Mu'uta marriage and what it does basically is legitimaize a one night stand.
