About Cars, VRT and potholes

Today I woke up and to my dismay I realized that in about 6 months I will have to put my car down :D because it will surely to fail to pass the VRT test.

Now my questions are the following. How can the goverment impose on the citizen to have a top notch car when:

1. Street are in a state of complete chaos - moonlandings where smoother that moving on our roads, inflicting innumerable damage to our vehicles.

2. The High taxation on new vechicles makes buying new vehicles prohibitive for most of us islanders.

3. Government in spite of the many claims about the environment has not yet forwarded an effective policy of incentives for green car buyers. TAKE OFF REGISTRATION TAX YOU BLOODY BUROCRATS!

4. Ages talking about alternative forms of transportation and when they finally get new busses the take in consideration aboriginal pigmeas when the design the seating I am merely 1.70cm and I cannot sit properly.

5. Finally you can still see cars going around leaving towering colomns of smoke behind them just because they know the easy way out of VRT test -m police u wardens definittivament al xejn mela!.

And as a postscrittum - the road leading to zebbug from qormi that has been freshly laid is already a passatur figuriamoci dopo un po di anni.

I've seen those covers in Canada and they are against the law there just imagine what every ticket writting warden would do over here.

It isn't just the roads that need fixin' maybe they should start with the licenseing dept. I was there today and had to wait on line for over an hour. They have 15 windows with 15 computers all set up to help the public and only 4 clerks to aid them.

Nowadays it's become a nightmare to simply go to work in the morning. I live in Fgura and work in Birkirkara and the trip usually takes me 45 minutes! This, not to mention the poisonous fumes from the buses, trucks and the Marsa power station I have to ingest. I have a small engine car and I bought it expressly to be economical and have as little emissions as possible, but what good does that do when the busses and trucks/containers etc., constantly belch out tonnes of black smoke and nobody seems to care about it?

That's why you have the 'Smoking kills' warning on cigarette packs. If you die of lung cancer it must surely have been through active or passive smoking!
