This is the globalisation. This is what Norman Lowell has said years ago. We don't want anything from other continents, because they are just taking our jobs.
Now europe seems it will do some sort of slow down for chinese imports. If this year imports from china continue with this rate a million jobs will be lost in EU.
Seems Europe is following Lowell, however just 20 years behind:(

China is seeing red over a European Union warning about surging textile imports. The EU has said it could introduce restrictions. Beijing has protested. The European textile industry says China's own data shows it had shipped more than 46 percent more textiles to the EU this year in January, compared with the same time last year.
Since a global quota regime ended on 1 January, EURATEX says, imports of men's trousers have seen a more than 900% increase, and medical gauze more than 340%.
China's trade authorities warn that any measure blocking its textiles will hurt both China's and Europe's interests. The European Commission is looking at bringing in safeguard measures in case its analysis clearly demonstrates large-scale and sustained trade distruption.
