Illegal Immigration and Crime

Immigrant criminality represents perhaps the worst use of the liberty aliens enjoy in the European Union. Increasingly, the government closest to the people either finds its hands tied or cravenly abrogates its responsibility to fellow Europeans within its jurisdiction. Moreover, the illegal element exacerbates the economic and other burdens caused by legal immigration.

The current high rate of sustained, mass immigration forces many states and localities into turmoil. The illegals certainly live outside the obligations that those who live under the "consent of the governed" owe to each other.Illegal immigrants are not part of the social contract giving legitimacy to this government. European citizens have not given their consent to higher taxes, crowded schools, jammed emergency rooms, clogged roads, unlawful turning of single-family homes into hotels or apartments into tenements, forced multicultural amenities such as bilingual education and multilingual ballots, or welfare and other services subsidizing poverty-prone immigrants. Above all, they never consented to higher crime rates.
The underworld network built up by thousands of alien lawbreakers, who by and large have no fear of capture or of being held accountable, enable human traffickers to operate undetected.

The advancement of "political correctness" and multiculturalism has caused politicians to be less willing to challenge limitations on their authority over resources. Local and state politicians in heavy immigrant-receiving areas have instead expanded immigrant eligibility for public benefits, welfare, assistance programs, affirmative action. Dealing with current levels and quality of legal immigration is an immense problem by itself. But it is clear that until alien criminality of every kind is punished, swiftly and surely,Europeans who must live with the consequences will continue to suffer higher taxes, lower quality of life, higher threat and fear levels, and less actual safety.

Boy, 17, sexually assaults care worker (http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20090515/local/boy-17-sexually-assaults-care-worker)

Waylon Johnston

An under-age illegal immigrant was yesterday convicted of sexually assaulting a care worker and given a suspended jail term after a court felt the version of events given by the victim was more credible.
The 17-year-old Ethiopian attacked the 23-year-old Maltese carer as she was walking out of the kitchen at Liedna House in Fgura, a residence for immigrant minors.
Taking the witness stand, she described the incident. "He grabbed me from behind and told me to kiss him. He said, kiss me, kiss me just once. He then held my face and licked my cheek moving on to grab my breasts and private parts."
Frightened, she pushed him and ran off to tell the house coordinator. She filed a police report the following day only because she could not leave the home that night.
The accused denied any wrongdoing and said that he had only pushed her out of the way so he could continue cleaning the kitchen.
Magistrate Lawrence Quintano said that he found the victim's testimony to be far more credible than that of the accused.
He gave the youngster a jail term of four months suspended for one year, taking into consideration that according to law he faced between three months and a year in prison but that he was a minor and had already spent two months in preventative custody.

I blame both. The illegal immigrant because he is still 17 years old yet has already started showing his true colours. I shrudder to think when he gets older and will be roaming our streets what will he be up too then?

The do gooders are asking for trouble unfortunately. Until they realisie that they are dealing with criminals and not poor people escaping poverty and warfare, then these things are bound to happen and will continue to happen.

Guilty of falsifying signature, declaration

A Somali immigrant admitted in court yesterday to making "a very big mistake" when he sent his friend to sign for him and collect his social benefit cheque.

Ali Farah Ali, 27, had asked his fellow countryman Mohamed Ahmed Mukthar, 19, to collect his monthly cheque from the Marsa open centre for immigrants.

They both pleaded guilty to the charges of falsifying a signature and making a false declaration on June 24 and 26.

Prosecuting Officer Priscilla Caruana explained that the immigrants had to take their identification papers and sign at the centre three times a week in order to receive their cheque. But Mr Ali gave his papers to Mr Mukhtar and asked him to sign in his stead.

"I made a very big mistake," Mr Ali told the court. The two immigrants could not understand Maltese so an interpreter was called to translate the proceedings.

However, while the Somali interpreter was taking an oath, Magistrate Miriam Hayman realised he could not understand Maltese and that another interpreter was needed to translate the proceedings from Maltese to English.

"You see what happens when you rush," the magistrate told the prosecuting officer.

Lawyer Franco Galea, who happened to be waiting for another case to be heard, was appointed interpreter for the Somali translator.

Legal aid lawyer Martin Fenech pointed out that Mr Ali would not keep the cheque for himself but would pass it on to his friend.

Both men pleaded guilty and the court handed down a six-month jail term suspended for one year.

Bright Solomon escapes, errs badly

A Nigerian by the name of Bright Solomon did not show the wisdom his name suggests when he was caught trying to leave the island with documents that were not his.

The 27-year-old from the Edo state in central Nigeria was caught on Thursday trying to leave the island with a Ghanaian passport, an Italian identity card and an Italian residence permit.

Officials at the airport became suspicious and double checked his travel documents before calling the police.

During investigations, Police Inspector Mario Haber found Mr Solomon had escaped from the Hal Safi centre on June 17.

In yesterday's arraignment, Mr Solomon pleaded guilty to trying to leave the island with documents that were not his and escaping from the detention centre.

After taking into consideration his early guilty plea, Magistrate Miriam Hayman handed down a six-month jail term suspended for one year.

Decima the do-gooders KNOW PERFECTLY WELL that they are dealing with criminals but they will continue helping them out because they want to be exempt from paying income tax and they hate whoever is intelligent and can stand up to them, especially when somebody is intelligent enough and stands up against the KKK.

Once I had a very interesting argument with a former chaplain and needless to say gibtu zibel. The chaplain told me these precise words and I quote verbatim: "Inti bniedem intelligenti pero' kultant fid-dinja ahjar tkun injorant."

Foreigners caught with drugs remanded in custody (http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20090715/local/two-foreigners-caught-with-drugs-remanded-in-custody)

21-year-old Sugeidy Margarita Novas Castillo, who hails from the Domenican Republic but holds a Spanish Identity Card, was this morning charged with conspiring to deal in heroin and ecstasy, importing the drugs, and having them in possession with the intent to sell.
33-year-old Ghanaian Stephen Nana Owusu, who also holds a Spanish Identity Card, was charged with the same crimes but only for heroin.
Both came to Malta on a flight from Brussels on Monday night.
They pleaded not guilty and were remanded in custody.
In a statement, the police said that a kilo of heroin and 3,000 pills, probably ecstasy were found in a false compartment in the woman's luggage.
They said that medical tests at Mater Dei Hospital established that the Ghanaian was carrying more than 74 capsules each containing around 10 grammes of heroin.

Nobody but nobody can tell me that since Malta has started to be inundated with illegal alien negroes from Africa that the trafficking and illegal importation of drugs, especially class A drugs has not risen alarmingly in this country!

That more and more Maltese youth are falling to the lure of illegal drugs.Whilst I admit that there was drug peddling by Maltese criminal elements prior to this massive influx of negroes, the problem of drug taking and drug related crime has increased alarmingly out of proportion to what was, especially involving Nigerian scum.Does no one seem to notice this?

This should be a major issue of right wing movements in this country given that it is down to the influx of criminal negroes into Malta.

When will the Somalis in this country start bickering amongst themselves over control of the 'Khat' industry like they do in London? What was the Somali that was beaten recently in Hal Far by 'unknown' assailants in to?Why did he not want to return to his digs at Hal Far.Why are people so stupidly blind as to what is going on?

The idiotic commentators on the ToM regarding this latest arrest of drug trafficking negroes call for imprisonment and/or instant deportation. How about making them pay by issuing a seizure warrant for what these scum posses in Spain. Is not the Eurozone now one single police state or are the Euro polizei merely there to arrest thought criminals?

Personally I have always compared illegal immigrants to cocroaches!

They come inside your home, uninvited of course, make a mess and multiply themselves reducing you to an illegal immigrant yourself in 'their' territory.

The trauma they cause me every summer is unbelievable.

But a fssssst fsssssst of Baygon outside my yard door and the following morning I find one or two in my yard, tummy facing upwards, of course and the problem is solved, if you keep spraying at 2-3 days interval, that is.

The same with African parasites.

But instead of Baygon you need a Prime Minister with balls (EXTREMELY RARE NOWADAYS).

Had we the luxury of having truly nationalistic politicians (Maroni & Berlusconi type), the first group of parasites would have been sent back and our crisis would have never existed.

No crime, no rapes, no theft, no added taxation, no khat, no expenses, no damamge to property, nothing.

NO BLACKS, NO RACISM!

Somali accused of fracturing policeman's finger (http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20090717/local/somali-accused-of-fracturing-policemans-finger)

A Somali immigrant was this morning remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to seriously injuring a policeman while queuing for his monthly allowance.
Farhan Ainab Mohamud, 30, a resident at the Hanger Open Centre in Hal Far allegedly jumped the queue and PC Adrian Zahra asked him to return to the line. He allegedly refused and a scuffle broke out between the two men.
During the fight, the Somali allegedly bit Mr Zahra’s finger, fracturing it in the process.

Immigrant 'bit and broke policeman's finger'

An illegal immigrant bit a police officer's finger so hard he broke it after jumping the queue to receive his social assistance cheque, a court heard yesterday.
Farhan Mohamud, 30, was queuing for his monthly allowance at the open centre in Hal Far on Wednesday at about 2 p.m. when he jumped the queue and an officer intervened, Police Inspector Priscilla Caruana testified.
Police Constable Adrian Zahra asked him to return to his place and when he refused to do so a scuffle broke out between the two and the accused bit the officer's finger, she said.
Mr Mohamud pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring the officer, resisting police orders, breaching the public peace and disobeying orders.
Magistrate Lawrence Quintano denied him bail and remanded him in custody after the inspector said it was very difficult to locate immigrants once they were out on bail.

In South Africa during Apartheid, one had 2 queues - one for Kaffirs and one for Whites.
With the advent of the great Mandela, Apartheid was abolished - as was the 2 queue system.
Blacks and Whites queued together.

A Kaffir at the Post Office jumped the multiracial queue.
A White police officer (English) politely told him to get at the back of the line.
The Kaffir did, but when the policeman turned his head - the Black again jumped the queue - and again the policeman politely corrected him.

The policeman's working shift changed and an Afrikaner officer took his place.
When the Kaffir again jumped the queue - the Afrikaner strode up to him -
and beat him mercilessly with his shambock.

An English lady, one of those church going do-gooders -
knelt beside the bleeding Black and asked:
but why! Why did you not heed the first policeman? Why?

And the Kaffir replied : "Because the Afrikaner explained it better!"

Urine bags thrown at migrants as racism grows - NGOs

Bags filled with urine have been thrown at migrants, who have also been the target of pepper spray, apart from the more publicised recent cases where a migrant was beaten senseless near Hal Far and another was killed in an alleged race-motivated attack in Paceville, NGOs said today.

"Racist attacks are rising, and the authorities need to acknowledge that a problem of racism exists in Malta," Andre' Callus, from the Graffitti Movement said at a press conference.

The press conference was held together with the Jesuit Refugee Service, the Peace lab, Third World Group, Koppin, Migrants' Solidarity Movement, the Fair Trade Cooperative, AD Youths and Zminijietna.

Describing acts of racism, Mr Callus said there had been cases where as the migrants waited in Marsa in the hope of being picked up to work, a car would drive up. As the migrants looked in to see if they were required, somebody would spray pepper spray into their eyes and then drive off before vehicle details were noted. In other cases urine bags were thrown at the migrants as they walked at Hal Far.

"We hear of so-called no-go areas because of the migrants, but it is the migrants who have been attacked," Mr Callus said.

"On the basis of such incidents, we feel that there is an urgent need for clear and concrete action against racism in Malta. Although we believe that most of the Maltese are not racist, we cannot continue to negate the fact that in Malta, racism is on the increase."

Silence, he said, amounted to complicity and such incidents needed to be given serious and due attention.

He said that talk of the migrants being a threat needed to stop if the growth of racism was to be brought in check.

He suggested that the remit of the Equality Commission could be extended by the government so that it could investigate cases of discrimination against the migrants and proceed accordingly. However resources allocated to the commission would also have to be increased, he said.

Comments by Noel Cutajar, ex Police Inspector

It reminds me of the same treatment that the police received when they guarded them at Ta' Kandja and at Floriana.

Noel Cutajar (7 hours, 24 minutes ago)
@All - Since police officers and soldiers are not allowed to express an opinion, I am going to highlight some factors which I personally experienced when I was in charge of the Floriana Detention Centre and the Hal Far Open Centre:

1. I was a Police Inspector - this to show that it is first hand experience.

2. Half liter bottles were filed with either hot water or urine and thrown at us. This was done during the serving of food or when gates are opened to take illegal immigrants to hospitals.

3. Oranges were filed with blades taken out of the disposable shaving blades. They were used as weapons whenever the occasion arose to throw them at us.

4. Toothbrushes - the brushes were melted with lighters and they used to stick a blade onto them. They used to be turned into small knives enough to cut your neck or any part of the body.

5. Metal chairs - they used to be broken down and with patience they used to turn the ends of the chairs into pointed instruments.

6. Broomsticks - weapons cut into two pieces and ends are sharpened.

Noel Cutajar (7 hours, 16 minutes ago)
Police Reactions

1. Frequent searches - allegations made by illegal immigrants were, police brutality, things being stolen. One had alleged that he had money stolen from under the bed. Al police officers conducting searches were in pairs and I made sure that none knew each other.

2. Al bottles were removed and 19 litre tanks were replaced. Machines were instaled outside the gates and they had onlcy access to the taps. Hot water was only given on request when they needed coffee or tea. Geysers were set to temperatures which would be enough for our winters but not high enough to hurt anybody.

3. More police officers were stationed at various points including roofs. Searches were carried out more frequently. Zero tolerance behaviour and any ilegal immigrant in breach of any law was arrested and taken to Court (although this was not highly recommended).

4. All police officers were given the necessary respect as they deserve and I had zero tolerance to any one of them being in contravention to any law. In this respect I gained the respect and confidence from both sides but vigilance was the key issue.

Noel Cutajar (7 hours, 9 minutes ago)
Assistance from NGO's

THis was inexistent at the time. Lawyers who were supposed to represent their interests were never to be found or they came only when it suited them. When they applied for refugee status and had their application turned down, not one bothered to explain anything to them. This was left to us to explain what is going to happen which caused further friction.

No doctors were available. WE used to make use of Health Centres and in some occasions.

Al other tasks, were carried out by 8 police officers in two different shifts of 12 hours which means 12 - Day and 12 Night.

When I needed extra clothing for the immigrants, the only Institution that came forward was The Islamic Community which had given us 100's of shoes and clothes for free.

The real factor in this case is that 2004 - 2005 was never a good year for any officer stationed at these places which was considered by many as a form of punishment by your senior officers.

The end result was that no escapes were reported from June 2004 - October 2004

A Nigerian man, Michael Chileno Okechukwu Ama Obi, was remanded in custody today after having been accused of helping migrants escape from Malta by boarding the catamaran to Sicily.
Ama Obi, who is married to a Maltese woman, pleaded not guilty.
Earlier, three migrants were each jailed for two months for trying to leave Malta illegally.
Mustafa Sarim, 20, from Burkina Faso, John Bull Ibrahim, 23 and Christian Obice, 21, both of Nigeria admitted to trying to leave Malta without proper documentation.
Another migrant, Promise Ndubueze, 30 of Nigeria was jailed for a month for escaping from the Safi Detention Centre.

Migrants use 'State of Sabotage' passports (http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20090803/local/migrants-use-state-of-sabotage-passports)

Claudia Calleja

Three immigrants were yesterday jailed for two months for trying to board a catamaran to Sicily with blatantly fake passports issued by "the State of Sabotage and the Government of World Citizens".
The bogus passports did not even carry the photographs of the men who tried to use them but displayed pictures of random strangers, Police Inspector Mario Haber told the court yesterday.
The passports were so manifestly false that the police did not even classify them as a forgery and the men were only charged with trying to leave Malta without documentation on Saturday.
During the arraignment, Magistrate Antonio Mizzi heard Mustafa Sarim, 20, from Burkina Faso, and Nigerians John Bull Ibrahim, 23, and Christian Obice, 21, admit to the charges. A fourth man, Promise Ndubueze, 30, of Nigeria, was jailed for a month for escaping from the Safi detention centre.
Mr Obice and Mr Ibrahim were also charged with escaping from detention.
In a separate arraignment, Nigerian national Michael Chileno Okechukwu Ama Obi, 45, was charged with human trafficking when he allegedly helped the men in their attempt to board the catamaran.
This seems to be a new trend by immigrants in Malta to get to Italy and central Europe. Last month, the Italian media reported that nine immigrants were returned to Malta after they were caught aboard a catamaran headed for Pozzallo. They were arraigned in Malta.
Mr Ama Obi pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. His lawyers - Andy Ellul and Vince Micallef - asked for bail. They argued that their client was married to a Maltese woman and the couple had an 11-month-old child. Therefore, he had strong bonds with Malta and there was no risk he would abscond. Inspector Haber objected to the granting of bail and explained that Mr Ama Obi owned an internet business in Italy where he had lived for 13 years and had a 12-year-old daughter.
The magistrate denied the request for bail at this stage.

Basic information

The "SoS state" (http://www.sabotage.at/sos/passport.php), as well as all of its productions, is an art project. Hence, the SoS passport is also an artwork and an artistic edition. The SoS passport has an artistic value but is not intended for use as a travel document. Any misuse of an SoS passport is soley the responsibility of the holder.

SoS Passport

http://www.sabotage.at/sos/picts/passport.jpg

Notice to applicants from Africa: (http://www.sabotage.at/sos/notice_for_african_de.php)

Since November 2005 SoS has issued passports to 117 Nigerians. SoS had become aware of the problem of transferring money between Africa and Europe and had therefore waived the application fee and suggested a trade. In exchange for an SoS passport we were to receive original or non-original creative work of appropriately equal value. These artworks have been added to the SoS Art Collection and will be publicly displayed according to our own discretion. In this way, the creative potential of the SoS state and its citizens were to be supported and a cultural alliance created.
However, since March 2006 we have been receiving news from Nigeria about SoS passports being sold to unsuspecting third persons. Any and all criminal abuse is contrary to the interests of SoS and damages the reputation as well as the record of SoS.
Further applications from Nigeria will only be processed after de facto diplomatic relations between the two states have been established.

Australia Cops 'Foil Suicide Terror Plot'
3:24pm UK, Tuesday August 04, 2009
Four men accused of plotting a mass suicide attack on an Australian army base have been arrested.
More than 400 officers were involved in Operation Neath which involved raids on 19 properties in Melbourne (http://indepth.news.sky.com/InDepth/topic/Melbourne%20Terror).
The suspects were allegedly planning an attack involving automatic weapons on Holsworthy Barracks on Sydney's (http://indepth.news.sky.com/InDepth/topic/Sydney) western outskirts, Mr Negus added.
Acting Australian Federal Police Commissioner Tony Negus said: "The men's intention was to actually go into the army barracks and to kill as many soldiers as they could until they themselves were killed."
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd (http://indepth.news.sky.com/InDepth/topic/Kevin%20Rudd) said the arrests showed "the threat of terrorism is alive and well".
<CUT>
But officials said Australia's terrorism warning alert would remain at medium level, where it has been since 2003.
It is the latest high-profile terrorism case that the country's police and intelligence agencies have uncovered.
Australia's biggest terrorism trial ended in February when Muslim cleric Abdul Nacer Benbrika was jailed for 15 years over a plot to bomb a 2005 football match in Melbourne.
Australia has gradually tightened its anti-terrorism laws since the September 11, 2001, attacks on America.
It is believed to be a target mainly because it has more than 1,000 military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The four detained men were aged between 22 and 26 and were all Australian citizens with Somali and Lebanese backgrounds.
Police said they were connected to Somalia (http://indepth.news.sky.com/InDepth/topic/Somalia)'s al Shabaab group that analysts say has links with al Qaeda.
Al Shabaab uses suicide bombers and jihadist fighters to try to overthrow the Somali government, seeks to impose a pure, hardline form of Islam, and sees the West as its enemy.
Police said they had worked with international agencies on the raids, but declined to say who tipped them off.
The suspects were due to appear in court charged with planning or preparing a terrorist act.

Jailed for armed robberies (http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20090923/local/jailed-for-armed-robberies)

Waylon Johnston
A Libyan man was yesterday jailed for four years after he admitted to carrying out four armed robberies in April and making off with around €15,000.
Bashir Abu Gasem Al Hariri, 35, who is unemployed, sat in the dock looking gaunt and wearing a shirt ironically emblazoned with the words: "You make your own destiny".
He pleaded guilty to carrying out the armed robberies on April 4, at the gaming arcade Fairplay in San Ġwann; on April 7, at Fairplay in Birkirkara; on April 17 at Ambassador in Qawra and on April 19, at Playline in Marsa. He also admitted to an attempted hold-up at Fairplay in Paola on April 21 and to holding the various employees of the arcades at gun point.
At the start of the arraignment proceedings, Police Inspectors Keith Arnaud, Joseph Mercieca and legal aid lawyer Patrick Valentino approached the bench to discuss punishment.
Police Inspector Mercieca said the amount taken not just by the accused but by others who are still under investigation reached the €15,000 mark.
Before handing down judgement, Magistrate Antonio Vella took into consideration the fact that Mr Al Hariri filed an early guilty plea, had a clean police record and had cooperated with the police in their investigations.

Drugs seized by the police and other forces so far this year already exceeds the record amount found last year, Home Affairs Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici said this afternoon.
Dr Mifsud Bonnici in a statement praised the police Drug Squad and the other law enforcement agencies for their work.
He said that by September 28, they had seized 490 kilogrammes of illegal drugs including cocaine, heroin, khat and cannabis along with 24,500 ecstasy or fake ecstasy pills.
The minister also observed that the police had so far this year arraigned 268 people and charged them with drug possession while 126 were accused of drug trafficking. A total of 444 suspects were arrested.
Dr Mifsud Bonnici said the governemnt was committed to give the law enforcement agencies the tools they needed to continue their battle until it was won.
The police and Customs over the past few days separately arrested three people after finding that they were carrying drug capsules in their stomachs. They were stopped at the airport and tested at Mater Dei Hospital, where the officers' suspicions were confirmed.

Somali immigrant critical after fight (http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20091006/local/somali-immigrant-critical-after-fight)

A Somali immigrant was taken to hospital in a critical condition on Sunday night after he was injured with a sharp object during a fight at Tent City in Ħal Far.
A number of other immigrants were involved in the incident and two others ended up in hospital with slight injuries.
A Ghanaian resident of Tent City said an argument broke out between rival Somali groups and this was in "retaliation" for another incident that happened a while ago.
He said most of the people involved in the fight were drunk, and he complained that most Somalis got into such fights frequently because they did not know their alcohol limits.
"They do not have alcohol in their country, so they drink it like water here and then they get drunk and violent very easily."
When contacted, Alex Tortell, director of the Organisation for Integration and Welfare of Asylum Seekers (Oiwas), said a police investigation was under way.
Magistrate Lawrence Quintano is holding an inquiry while police investigations are continuing.

A young Nigerian university student has been remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to possessing 240 grammes of heroin and to money laundering.
Charity Ofame Ovbiagele, 23, residing in Naxxar was allegedly caught by police with the drug at her flat following investigations into money laundering which allegedly led to her, police sources said.
Well dressed and sheepishly standing in the dock, Ms Ovbiagele pleaded not guilty to possessing the drug in circumstances which denote it was not for her exclusive use and money laundering on Saturday night.
During submissions on bail, Police Inspector Pierre Grech said there were still three witnesses to be heard and raised concerns over which address the accused residing at as there were two addresses and also a third as stated on her identity card.
In reply, defence lawyer Gianella Caruana Curran said that her client had been living in Malta for the past six years and was due to graduate in January and in fact had been living with her mother.
Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona said that he was going to remand her in custody until Thursday when the prosecution’s three main witnesses would be heard and he would then decide on bail.
Police Inspector Yvonne Farrugia also prosecuted.

A Nigerian who swallowed 19 capsules of cocaine with a street value of more than €20,000 yesterday pleaded guilty to being a drug mule and importing the drug on August 31 last year.
Davidson Osiri, 34, was caught at the Topaz Hotel in Qawra by the police following a tip-off after he managed to slip past security at the airport.
Mr Osiri had arrived from Spain after conspiring with another individual to start importing the drugs into Malta, the Attorney General stated in the bill of indictment.
The police managed to apprehend Mr Osiri before the drugs he was carrying were meant to be picked up by a Maltese man, who is currently in the middle of proceedings against him related to the case.
The drugs weighed 285.8 grammes, had a purity level of 31.7 per cent and a street value of €21,721, according to the bill of indictment.
During the compilation of evidence, Mr Osiri had claimed he was forced into admitting his involvement by the prosecuting officer, Police Inspector Victor Aquilina, but he changed his tune yesterday and said this was not the case.
In yesterday's sitting before the Criminal Court, he pleaded guilty to conspiring to traffic in the drug and importing it. He is expected to be sentenced tomorrow.

A Malaysian woman was yesterday jailed for 15 years and fined €70,000 after she admitted to importing drugs in March 2008.
Noor Faizura Azura Binti Md Lias, 30, was arrested at the airport after arriving on a flight from Madrid. When searched, she was found wearing a corset containing 1.12 kilos of cocaine with a total street value of between €60,000 and €106,000.
Ms Lias also admitted making similar flights to Malta on previous occasions and carrying between €15,000 and €30,000, derived from the drugs, from Malta to Spain.
She was meant to stand trial by jury but yesterday filed a guilty plea and admitted to importing, conspiring to traffic and money laundering.
Before passing sentence, Mr Justice Joseph Galea Debono took into consideration the fact that she had admitted to the charges at an early stage even though she was caught red-handed and had no other option.
He also considered the large amount of drugs involved, its high purity, the fact that she had acted purely for financial gain and that it was her third time.

Nigerian says she came to Malta to buy designer clothes (http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20091030/local/nigerian)

A Nigerian who failed to declare more than €10,000 in cash as she was leaving Malta on October 2 said that she had come to Malta to buy designer clothes but was unable to say where she bought the clothes from, a court heard this morning.
In the compilation of evidence against 42-year-old Nigerian Atinuke Nue Ugoji, who lives in Pisa, customs officer Hilary Fenech recalled that the woman had been stopped at the airport carrying €9,815 in her handbag.
After a female officer searched her body, another €20,000 were found in her underwear.
The Nigerian stands charged with failing to declare more than €10,000 in cash and money laundering.
She claimed that the money in her underwear, which was wrapped up in serviettes and taped in two batches of €10,000 each, belonged to friends. The whole sum was in €50 notes.
Police Inspector Yvonne Farrugia had previously testified that this woman had been carrying the name and address of a girl called Charity in whose flat designer clothes had been found.
When the Nigerian was caught, she had a Just Cavalli handbag, very similar to the ones found in Charity’s flat.
A powdery substance was also found at Charity’s apartment but this was not a drug and there was nothing to link the accused to this substance.
Defence lawyer Joe Giglio asked if there were any links between the accused and Charity.
The inspector said that there were since the owner of the flat where Charity was living had seen the accused at the flat a number of times and there had also been cellular contact between the two.
The Nigerian even told the police that she had come to buy designer clothes but was unable to answer when asked where she bought them from.
Dr Giglio asked what evidence was there to show that the money found on the accused came from an underlying criminal activity.
Inspector Farrugia said that at this stage there was none but the prosecution was basing its investigations on money laundering.

Customs officer finds €20,000 hidden in woman's underwear (http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20091102/local/customs-officer-finds-euro-20-000-hidden-in-womans-underwear)

Waylon Johnston
A Nigerian woman was allegedly found with some €20,000 in her underwear in a money laundering case for which she has now been charged.
Customs officers allegedly found almost €30,000 in cash in the woman's possession earlier this month. Nigerian Atinuke Nue Ugoji, 42, claimed she came to Malta from Italy to buy designer clothes during the sales. Customs officer Hillary Fenech testified that he found €9,815 in the woman's handbag and a female officer who had carried out a full body search found €20,000 in her underwear.

The large amount of cash was found wrapped up in serviettes in two batches of €10,000 each and, in turn, covered in tape. Ms Ugoji told the police the cash found in her underwear belonged to friends and the money in her bag was meant to buy clothes.

Police Inspector Yvonne Farrugia said Ms Ugoji's case was linked to that of a Nigerian woman, 23-year-old Charity Ofame Ovbiagele, who earlier this month was also arraigned over money laundering and drug possession.
The officer said Ms Ugoji had Ms Ovbiagele's telephone number and address and the landlord of the latter's apartment had seen Ms Ugoji there before.
Travel agency director Lino Vassallo also testified that Ms Ugoji had purchased a one-way ticket to Brussels on the same day she was arrested by the police at the airport. She had been accompanied by a Nigerian man, Ferdinand Onovo, who had previously called at the agency, accompanied by a woman, to purchase air tickets. Mr Onovo declined to give evidence after Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona warned him of his right to remain silent if he felt in any way that he might incriminate himself.
Defence lawyer Joseph Giglio asked the police inspector whether she had any hard evidence to show that the money found in possession of his client had derived from underlying criminal activity.
She replied that, at this point of the police investigations, she did not have enough evidence with regard to any underlying criminal activity but was investigating on the basis of money laundering laws.
Dr Giglio said he would be making submissions on whether or not there was enough prima facie evidence for his client to be indicted over the money laundering charges.

The arrests took place in Sliema after the police were informed that the couple, who had arrived from Brussels the previous night, were likely to be in possession of drugs.
After a search which proved negative, the two foreigners, born in the Dominican Republic but residing in Spain, were taken to Mater Dei Hospital and following medical tests one, the man, 36, was found to be carrying drug capsules in his stomach. He had swallowed 80 capsules containing around 800 grammes of cocaine.
His female partner, 35, was arrested for further investigations.

Three migrants told the police that they paid a foreign man €850 each to help them leave Malta illegally but nothing came of this arrangement, a court was told today.
The three migrants, two from Mali and one from Guinea, were arraigned this afternoon and accused of trying to leave the island illegally and without the necessary documents.
Police Inspector Edel Mary Camilleri explained to the court how the migrants had paid somebody to help them escape, but the arrangements fell through. The man with whom the arrangements were allegedly made would be arraigned later this week.
Magistrate Gabriella Vella conditionally discharged the migrants for three years .

Man charged with seriously injuring another denied bail (http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20091217/local/man-charged-with-seriously-injuring-another-denied-bail)

A 43-year-old man was remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to seriously injuring St Paul’s Bay resident Anaclet Kumbi.
Said Bouslama, 43, who has been living in Malta since 1993 also pleaded not guilty to holding Mr Cumbi against his will, using a knife during the commission of a crime and carrying the knife without a license, and breaching a suspended jail term handed down in 2007. He also pleaded not guilty to complicity,
The incident took place on December 2, at around 5 p.m.
In submissions for bail, defence lawyer Gianella Caruana Curran told the court that this had been a rather difficult time for her client as a young son of his died in a fire just a year-and-a-half ago and that he did not know the victim or the victim him. So there was no fear that he would tamper with evidence.
But Police Inspector Anthony Portelli told the Court that the victim had 12 sutures on the face and ear and the charges were serious.
Magistrate Miriam Hayman denied bail.

Refugee charged with attempted theft claims frame-up

A Libyan refugee was yesterday charged with attempted theft from his former employer's house.
Abdalla El Magrus Juma, 33, was seen by two witnesses breaking a window and entering the house of his former employer, Police Inspector Jeffrey Cilia said. The alleged victim managed to chase him out of the house.
Defence lawyer Gianella Caruana Curran rebutted this, insisting that her client had been framed. However, the prosecuting officer insisted there were two independent eyewitnesses who saw the accused break into the house.
Mr Juma pleaded not guilty to the attempted theft of items from within the house in Siġġiewi, damaging the house and breaching the conditions of a previous release.
In pleas on bail, Dr Caruana Curran said her client had refugee status, had been living in Malta for 12 years, had two children and was married to a Maltese woman.
The prosecution said the accused knew his former employer well and, thus, evidence might be tampered.
Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna said that at this point in the proceedings he would remand the accused in custody and ordered that all witnesses testify in the first sitting.
Lawyer Joseph Giglio also appeared for the accused.

It is probably quite a natural consequence of 'repetition'. Illegal immigration and related crimes have become so common that they fail to elicit the indignation and arouse the 'fire' that they used to. And admittedly some of the more virulent warriors may have sought alternative means of venting their frustration.
I'm not saying it's right or that I agree with it, just an observation of a logical consequence. Furthermore, last year was relatively mild in so far as landings are concerned, thanks to Signor Berlusconi.

Socialists instrumental in tilting vote on new Frontex rules

Ivan Camilleri, Brussels
New rules of engagement for the EU's border patrol agency Frontex, which were opposed by Malta, will come into effect after an attempt to block them failed yesterday.
Justice and Home Affairs Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici, who has already declared that Malta had no intention to participate any longer in Frontex missions if the new rules were enforced, said last night the government would now be evaluating the situation following this latest development.
"However, Malta is not willing to shoulder any additional responsibility," Dr Mifsud Bonnici insisted.
The proposed Frontex guidelines had been approved by the European Commission and endorsed by the Council but a resolution approved by the European Parliament's Civil Liberties Committee last week attempted to block them.
The resolution was approved by 336 votes in favour, 253 against and 30 abstentions in a plenary session of the European Parliament yesterday but it was not enough for it to go through because a qualified majority of 369 members was needed.
All the four Maltese MEPs present voted to reject the rules and Labour MEP John Attard Montalto was absent.
According to the new rules, all irregular immigrants and asylum seekers saved on the high-seas during a Frontex mission have to be taken to the mission's host country rather than to the closest safe port. This means that if Malta hosts a Frontex mission in the future, as it has done in the past two years, it will have to take all the illegal immigrants found at sea.
Though almost all the major political forces in the EP supported Nationalist MEP Simon Busuttil's suggestion to reject the rules, the Socialists, the second largest political group, backed the guidelines and were instrumental in tilting the vote.
Despite voting for a rejection and against their group's wishes, the vote of the two Maltese Labour MEPs was not enough to secure an absolute majority in favour of a rejection.
Labour's head of delegation, Louis Grech last week admitted that, despite trying, Malta's Labour delegation did not manage to persuade the rest of the Socialist group to reject the new rules.
The decision yesterday was received with dismay by Dr Busuttil, who lambasted his Labour colleagues.
In a statement, Dr Busuttil said the failure of the EP to reject the Frontex rules - just 33 votes short of the required majority - showed that the Labour Party was incapable of defending Malta's interests.
"We needed the Labour MEPs to persuade the Socialist Group to reject these rules, just like I did with my group. But they failed and were not even able to help us get another 33 votes," Dr Busuttil said.
Labour reacted to these comments later in the evening, pointing out that a "substantial number" of MEPs from the EPP group had also voted against the resolution blocking the new rules.
Efforts to contact Mr Grech were unsuccessful.
Dr Attard Montalto was also unavailable for comment.

GAHAN, this ulcer on the face of Malta can be healed slowly but surely, only if the people face the truth that the EUSA is our enemy, and that everyone else is a predator.
The modus operandi is simple and not as painful as you think.

1) Get out of EU.
2) Boycott traditional elections, stop being bribed by barbeques and let citizens voice their choice of leadership on internet excluding secrecy by stating ID. number directly. Maltese citizens abroad can use passport number.
3) Close the doors to interference from ALL foreign policies.
4) Open the doors to serious tourism and choose who is admitted here by means of visas. We have a whole world to offer.
5) Bring back the maltese LIRA.
6) Live off the land. We can do it. (and lose some weight in the process, we`re fat enough anyway)
7) Stop being selfish, and UNITE.
8) Let GOD itself decide the outcome, not dark ages beliefs about whom this GOD might be.

The alternative will be that you will soon not have a square inch left which is not occupied by some illegal immigrant parasite. The result will be the extinction of the true maltese and the island becoming the HAITI of the mediterranean instead of SWITZERLAND.

If I am making a fool of myself, you have my permission to publicly stone me to death on the granaries of Floriana. Comments welcome.

Low racist crime figures shocking.

http://static.timesofmalta.com/media/serve/20100328--113009-loc_17.jpg

Just four people were charged in court for racist crimes in the last 10 years, a figure described as "shocking" by Nationalist MEP Simon Busuttil.
Two people were arraigned in 2006, and another two were charged in 2008 and 2009, according to figures released in Parliament by Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici.
The figures pale in comparison to claims made by NGOs and humanitarian organisations over what they describe as the worrying xenophobic and racist trends in Malta.
The most recent Eurobarometer surveys show 77 per cent of Maltese respondents perceive discrimination based on ethnic origin to be widespread, while five per cent of those interviewed in Malta the previous year said they had personally experienced racial discrimination.
Asked whether the figures or race-related crimes were low because racism was not an issue in Malta or whether it was due to a lack of enforcement, Dr Mifsud Bonnici replied: "The authorities have taken the necessary steps whenever reports related to racist crimes were made. The robust law that came into effect last year laid down clear definitions for such crimes, introduced new ones, and raised the penalties."
Yet, nobody has been charged with racist crimes since the regulations came into force last July, and according to the ministry, this is because the new law was acting as a deterrent.
But Dr Busuttil expressed shock at the low figures, saying he was concerned about the rising tide of xenophobia and racism.

Almost a kilo of heroin was found hidden in a false compartment in a bag being carried by a 22-year-old Briton who flew in at Malta International Airport from Brussels last night.
After further investigations, a 35-year-old man from Liberia resident in St Paul's Bay and a 40-year-old man from Congo resident in Marsascala, were arrested near City Gate this afternoon. The drug is believed to have been destined to them.

Police inspector Edmond Cuschieri told the court that the accused cut Ms Dimitrova’s finger with a corned beef container, which he presented in court, because he believed that if she bled it meant that she was cheating on him. He also scratched her face.
Mr Abuzoda, who owns a clothes shop in Libya, also pleaded guilty to threatening Ms Dimitrova with a knife and assaulting three police officers.
Magistrate Antonio Mizzi put the girl under a protection order for three years.

Somali accused of assaulting policeman - defence says migrant was actually the victim

A Somali man who was today charged with having assaulted and slightly injured a policeman said in court through his defence counsel that he was actually the victim of assault, in a racially motivated incident.
Mustafa Muhammed Isse, 36, who lives at Marsa open centre, was accused of slightly injuring the policeman, damaging his uniform and breaking public peace.
He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000.
His defence counsel, Joseph Brincat, said that what had taken place was the opposite of what the prosecution was claiming, and his client was manhandled in what was a case of racism.
The court ordered the Police Commissioner to investigate the claim.

So now police will not be able to do their duty and apprehend immigrant criminals for fear of being accused of racism?

Night club owner guilty of resisting police

Night club owner Frankie Grima was yesterday conditionally discharged and fined €50 for pushing a police superintendent in an argument over smoking in his club.
Mr Grima, 52, from St Julians was found guilty of violently resisting Police Superintendent Stephen Gatt at Plush Bar, which he owns, on March 14 at about 1 a.m.
The officer had tried to stop a patron from smoking when Mr Grima intervened and pushed him, Police Inspector Malcolm Bondin testified. Defence lawyer Gianella Caruana Curran told the court her client had in fact apologised to the officer and the apology was accepted.
Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona took this into consideration before handing down a conditional discharge for nine months and imposing a fine. Police Inspector Nikolai Sant also prosecuted. Lawyer Joseph Giglio also appeared for Mr Grima.
In 1998, Mr Grima was acquitted of murdering Diego Farrugia who formed part of a gang that had repeatedly tried to extort money out of catering establishments in Paceville. The incident took place six years earlier, when the gang went to Bamboo Bar, owned by Mr Grima. A big fight ensued and Mr Grima fired a number of shots.

Immigration = criminality. 99% of immigrants are invaders, illegal stoaways, or masses of invaders organized by the migration mafias. Governments are in cahoots with the migration cartels; just like they are in cahoots with the drugs cartels. It is all part of a web of murky business. All government ministers are typical underworld characters. That is why there is not a single voice from government benches and government structures to speak against immigration. Immigration is another example of rotten corruption, Corrupt governments in a state of decomposing decay are at the forefront of the immigrant invasion. The thirld world rejects and slime is poured into the European heartland. Drugs culture is annihilating European youth ; immigration- diversity culture is annihilating the race.

http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20100524/local/mexican-man-admits-importing-1-5kg-of-cocaine

A Mexican man was this morning jailed for 13 years after he admitted in court to importing over 1.5 kilogrammes of cocaine into Malta in September 2006 when customs officials at the airport found the drug in a false bottom of his luggage. He was also fined €30,000.
Yanez Pinon Miguel Angel admitted importing the drug and conspiring to deal in it during what was to be the beginning of his trial by jury, before Mr Justice Joseph Galea Debono.
The bill of indictment, which he admitted to, stated that he left Mexico on September 10, 2006, and arrived in Malta the following day via Amsterdam. On arrival at the airport Customs officials searched his luggage and found about 1.5 kilos of cocaine which had a value of about €130,000.
Way back in 2006 he was one of four foreigners arraigned after police cracked down on what they believed was drug trafficking circle originating in Mexico. A total of three kilogrammes of cocaine were seized by Customs and police, estimated to be worth over €232,000 at street value.
On handing down judgement the judge noted that Mr Angel had a clean criminal record noting that, it could not be otherwise since he had just landed in Malta when he was arrested. The judge also noted that the accused had pleaded guilty at the beginning of his trial. However, this could not be taken as an early guilty plea since it was over three years after his arraignment.
He could not ignore the detrimental effect on society, especially on young people, that such drug importation had. This could not be taken lightly and the message was to be that the iron fist of the law would be used in such cases.

WHOA !!! Don`t tell me the mexicans are jumping the border into MALTA too????!!!!!. I thought they wanted to get to USA. Why is everybody coming to Malta? Probably because he thought it was the Wild West. What a shocking surprise it must have been for this bandido to encounter the maltese "iron fist of the law"! LOL.

Three Libyan men were yesterday charged with threatening police officers in two separate incidents that took place in St Julians early on Sunday morning.
Bilqasim Abdulhalmid Almokhtar, 28, was given a six-month jail term suspended for a year when he admitted to threatening four police officers and damaging a police car in St George's Street, St Julians, at about 3 a.m. Magistrate Miriam Hayman ordered that he be deported after he paid for the damage caused to the car. In a separate arraignment, two Libyan men were charged over their involvement in a fight that broke out in the same street in St Julians two hours later.
Eman Issa Yacoub, 26, and Fthi Emhmed Abdul Salam Zuwmh, 35, were charged with assaulting and threatening four police officers (two of who had been threatened two hours earlier), breaching the peace, disobeying the police and being drunk in public.
Mr Yacoub alone was charged with slightly injuring one Steven Sciberras. Mr Zuwmh admitted to the charges and was given a six-month jail term suspended for a year while Mr Yacoub pleaded not guilty and was remanded in police custody.
Mr Yacoub is claiming that he just happened to be in the area and was not involved in the fight.
Police Inspectors Nikolai Sant and Trevor Micallef prosecuted.
Lawyers Mark Mifsud Cutajar, Veronique Dalli and Joseph Brincat represented the accused.

Migrant found buried near Ħal Far open centre

No signs of decompositon on body

The police are investigating the discovery of the body of a male immigrant found buried under a carob tree in a field close to a hangar used for housing immigrants in Ħal Far. The grim find was made at about 6 p.m. yesterday near Tal-Ġebel Road by migrants who live in the open centre opposite as they were wandering through the field. Until late last night, the police were still trying to establish both the identity and the nationality of the dead man and what led to his death.
Police sources said there were traces of blood in the area around the body and that only the person's fingers were protruding from the soil.
Since the first indications were that foul play could have been involved, it had also to be established whether the death occurred on site or whether the body was transported to the field and buried.
As there were no signs of decomposition on the body, the death is not thought to have occurred before Saturday.
Civil Protection Department personnel were called on site and, with the use of generators, illuminated the area with powerful floodlights to assist investigators.
Forensic experts were seen closely searching the field, looking for any evidence that could throw more light on the case.
Migrants closely followed police investigations from behind the police tape as the area was cordoned off.
At one point, the police, with the assistance of the Armed Forces of Malta, had to deal with what appeared to be disturbance among a considerable number of immigrants at Ħal Far.
However, the situation was soon brought under control.
Magistrate Giovanni Grixti has launched an inquiry into the discovery of the body.
He appointed a number of court experts to assist him.
Police investigations are being conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department.

Ivorian held on murder of 'good, kind' immigrant

A migrant from Ivory Coast has been arrested in connection with the murder of fellow Ivorian Adam Dabete.
Mr Dabete, a resident at the tent village in Ħal Far, an immigrant centre, was found on Sunday buried in the foetal position under a carob tree in a field opposite a hangar at Ħal Far, which also houses immigrants.
Sources said only his toes were exposed and he was discovered by other migrants who spotted traces of blood along the road leading to the field.
Initial investigations indicate Mr Dabete was hit on the head, probably with a stone, sometime on Saturday.
The motive for the murder is still unclear but police sources said they had "strong suspicions" the man they were holding was responsible for Mr Dabete's death and burial.
They said he was likely to be arraigned as soon as forensic tests proved the suspicions well-founded.
Yesterday, the shock and tension were palpable around the open centres although many migrants preferred not to talk to the press.
Huddled over a gas stove inside Tent 21, where Mr Dabete lived, his roommates discussed the grim discovery as they cooked lunch just inches from where he slept.
His top bunk bed was empty and his belongings packed in a small purple suitcase.
Mr Dabete, 30, was described as a "good, peaceful and very kind" man who kept to himself most of the time and had never been involved in a fight.
A Gambian man who described Mr Dabete as his "best friend" said they got along mainly because they resided in nearby tents and spoke a similar native language.
Besides that language, Mr Dabete spoke French which made it difficult for him to communicate with most of the other migrants who speak English.
"My first thought was that this was done by a white man... a Maltese," he said, since Mr Dabete was never involved in a fight with someone else from the centre.
"But about 75 per cent of the people here suspect it was another African who killed him. I don't know. I just know him as my very kind neighbour."
As he watched policemen walking around the crime scene, a young Malian resident of the hangar remembered Mr Dabete from their time at the Safi detention centre in 2008.
He said Mr Dabete was hardworking and a practising Muslim who never drank or smoke.
Another man, from Somalia, could not believe such an incident had happened so close to where he slept.
"I couldn't sleep last night. I kept thinking, how could this happen here," he said from behind the chicken wire mesh surrounding the hangar.
While scuffles were common around the centres, he said, no one had expected a crime like this to happen.
"He was killed and buried," the Somali said in disbelief.
On Sunday night, when the body was discovered, hundreds of migrants lined up behind police lines, to see what was going on.
But yesterday many of them returned to their daily routine of trying to find work.

Updated: Liberian jailed for nine years for trafficking kilo of drugs

"Ibrahim Koroma, 30, a Liberian national, was today jailed for nine years and fined €23,000 after he admitted possession and complicity to traffic up to a kilo of heroin and cocaine. The admission was made just before the accused went on trial.
Mr Koroma was arrested in 2007 in Qawra along with a Maltese man.
Reports at the time alleged they were caught red-handed carrying out the deal. Police said they seized 400 grammes of cocaine and 600 grammes of heroin. Most of the drug was allegedly found in the Liberian's home in St Paul's Bay.
Both the Liberian and his alleged Maltese client, 26-year-old Christian Grech, pleaded not guilty when they were charged. They were denied bail."

Moroccan jailed eight years for raping boy

A Moroccan man was today jailed for eight years for raping a boy, 14, on and before April 6, 2004.
Hamid El Faiq was convicted of raping the Maltese boy at least twice and holding him against his will.
The first case occurred when the boy was playing football in St Paul's Bay. The man told the boy he was a professional football player and after showing him some tricks, he took him to an area near by and raped him.
The second time happened at the man's residence when the man took the boy there to show him some football pictures.
The court ordered a ban on the boy's name.

A 33-year-old from Mali was this afternoon charged with the murder of 30-year-old Adame Diabate from the Ivory Coast.
Mr Diabate had been found partially buried in a field in Hal Far on June 6.
Fodie Keita, who resides at the Hal Far open centre, pleaded not guilty to killing Mr Diabate, hiding his body, being in possession of a firearm and stealing Mr Diabate’s mobile phone.
There was no request for bail but Mr Keita’s legal aid lawyer requested that the accused is kept at Mount Carmel because he suffered from suicidal tendencies.
The prosecution agreed and the court acceded to the request.

In possession of a firearm, sure keep telling us that they haven't got any means to provide for themselves, One would assume that this firearm wasn't legally owned, so how did he get it?

Would some NGO or church representatives please answer?

this sex slave story is pretty disgusting. the least this woman could have done is given the names of the people who gave her the travel documents - at least as a thank you to the local police for saving her from an existence of sheer misery - but no, she shut her mouth, and was rewarded.
6 months suspended for 6 months, or in other words, no luck this time, better luck next time.

something here stinks big time. and where are the JRS and the usual suspects when you really need them? or do they condone this sort of thing merely by not commenting?
