BIRKIRKARA, Malta, (di-ve news) -- September 04, 2005 -- 1845CEST -- Malta is joining other EU member states in responding to the request for assistance made by the United States following the disaster left by hurricane Katrina.

The Civil Protection Department has thus made a call for the public to provide blankets, first aid kits, tents, bedding and water that will then be sent to the victims in the afflicted areas.

This material will be collected on Monday, September 5th between 0800CEST and 1900CEST from the Ta' Kandja Civil Protection Headquarters; the Fire Stations at Xemxija, Corradino, Hal-Far and Gozo; and the Parish Centre in Attard.

The Civil Protection Department has also called for cash donations, with persons wishing to donate money being able to do so at one of the local banks until Wednesday, September 7th.

I'm sorry carlos, I have to completely DISAGREE with you on this one. If there are any crooks in the business world they certainly are in AMERICA ! You may have met one or two of the few gentlemen left, but when you have been dealing with these idiots for more than 30 years you will agree with me.

Bush is just an ass hole who cannot string a coherent sentence if his life depended on it and the blame for his re-election falls squarely on the 51% of idiots who re-elected him; not to mention that he should NOT have been elected in the first place !

So Bush has the money to buy ammo, missiles and nukes, occupy Iraq, operate space shuttles but then needs money to donate a few bottles of water and food to a small percentage of his own people. Come on, this is ridiculous. Who are they kidding?

Mind you, they could have been pure whites or whatever for all that I care, I still wouldn't donate a penny. Why should I help a country that is so staunchly supportive of the killing of innocents in wars?
